Two Year Olds
Organization of the Day Greeting Time Upon arrival to the classroom families are greeted by a teacher who is ready to discuss any concerns or special instructions they may have. At this time children are free to explore the classroom. This takes place between 6:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Circle Time During this time the children are introduced to the weekly theme and any concepts they are learning. Breakfast Time From 9:30 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. breakfast is served. It is prepared in the kitchen and the children eat in their classroom. Activity Time From 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the children in small groups are participating in story time, art/center explorations. Outside Time Weather permitting, the children enjoy outside time from 10:50 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. During this time they are able to participate in gross motor activities. Lunch From 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the children are eating lunch that has been prepared in the kitchen. Nap Time By 12:30 p.m. with soft music playing, the children have settled down for nap. They will nap until 2:30 p.m. Snack Time The children eat their snack between 2:40 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Snack is prepared in the kitchen and eaten in the classroom. Circle Time Review From 3:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. the children review the morning circle time along with having a music activity. Afternoon Outside Time Weather permitting the children experience gross motor play in their playground from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Afternoon Snack Snack is prepared in the kitchen and served in the classroom from 4:40 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Late Afternoon/Going Home From 3:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the children make the transition from TLC to their home when their families arrive. Special messages and highlights of the day are shared with families through the Two Year Old daily sheet and conversations with the teachers. During this time children are participating in center play, story time, and art experiences. |
